Annual Float and Scavenger Hunt

Graduate Newcomers … Let's get our Float a Palooza party on and enjoy these hazy, crazy days of summer, southern style!! It's time to get organized for our annual scavenger hunt and float. We team up in groups of 8-10, meet at the park to get scavenger instructions, and head out for a wild search. When an item is located, it is recorded on your phone as proof. The hunt will be timed, and when time is up, everyone will meet up at a designated spot for lunch, drinks, float, beach games and prizes. Each passenger is expected to bring their own lunch, beverages, towels, and sunscreen.

Here's how this works:

  • If you have a boat available, you may organize who you would like to include in your group. Please assign a captain, who will be my point person for organization. You may have your passengers meet at your home, or at High Falls County Park, if it is more convenient.
  • If you have available room on your boat, and would like to take on other GN members, please let me know how many people I can add to your boat. These people will be picked up at High Falls Park around 10am.
  • If you don't have a boat, please let me know, and I will find a ride for you from one of our volunteer boats.
  • If you don't want to participate in the scavenger portion of the day, but would only like to float, please let me know and you can meet us at 11:00 on the sandy point near High Falls park.

Due to the difficulty of assigning boats and organizing everyone, I am requesting that you get the above information to me by July 17 (one week in advance). I will arrange the boats and confirm with an email by July 20th. If you have not heard from me, please reach out, as it is likely that I did not receive your information.

Guest Policy for this event: We all have company over the summer, so if you want to include a guest, that's fine for this event, assuming that we have enough boats to accommodate. Guest fee is $2 to cover costs of prizes.
